Repair makes sense when
- The phone is still fast enough for your daily use.
- The fault is clear: screen, battery, charging port, camera or back glass.
- The repair cost is much lower than the replacement cost.
- You want to keep your data, settings and apps.
- The device is still supported by software updates or works well for your needs.
Replacement may make sense when
- There are multiple major faults at once.
- The device is very old and no longer suitable for your needs.
- There is serious board damage and data is not a priority.
- The cost of repair is close to the value of the device.
Do not forget data and setup time
Replacing a phone is not just the purchase price. Moving banking apps, photos, passwords, two-factor authentication, work apps and family settings can take time. Repair can be simpler if the device already does everything you need.
