When a cracked iPhone screen should be replaced
A small crack can sometimes look harmless, but the screen is one of the most-used parts of the phone. If the glass is sharp, the display is flickering, the touch response is inconsistent, or the crack is spreading across the camera/sensor area, replacement is usually the safer option.
Customers often wait until the screen becomes unusable. The risk is that a cracked screen can let dust or moisture reach other parts of the device, especially if the glass is lifted around the frame.
Signs the display itself is damaged
- Coloured vertical or horizontal lines.
- Black patches, ink-like marks or dead areas.
- Ghost touching where the phone operates by itself.
- Touch not responding in certain parts of the screen.
- Brightness, flickering or True Tone/display issues after impact.
When these symptoms appear, it is normally more than a cosmetic glass issue and should be checked properly.
