Common signs of battery wear
- The phone drops from 30% to 1% suddenly.
- It shuts down in cold weather or under load.
- Charging takes longer than it used to.
- The back of the phone feels warm during normal use.
- The battery health setting shows reduced capacity or service warnings.
Check software before replacing the battery
Battery drain is not always caused by the battery itself. Background apps, weak signal, old software, high screen brightness and location services can all reduce battery life. Before booking, restart the phone, update iOS if appropriate and check which apps are using the most battery.
When replacement makes sense
If the phone is otherwise working well, battery replacement is usually far cheaper than replacing the whole device. It is especially worthwhile when the screen, camera and charging port are still in good condition.
What to expect from the repair
The device is opened carefully, the old battery is removed, the replacement is fitted, and the phone is tested for charging, battery recognition and general operation before return.
